Geocache Description:

This series of caches, along the Eureka Trail, will introduce you to 42 National Park Service sites.

All cache containers are hanging bottle tops and have been hidden for low difficulty and terrain rating.  These cache containers are designed to keep the water out and we use Rite in the Rain paper logs. After finding the cache, be sure to screw the bottle top lid back on securely to ensure the cache stays nice and dry. Each cache gallery contains a SPOILER picture.  RIGHT or LEFT references the side of the trail the cache is hidden on based on starting at the parking coordinates listed for Athens, TN and hiking towards Englewood, TN.

On August 4, 2020, President Donald J. Trump signed the Great American Outdoors Act into law, which significantly helps address the historically underfunded, multi-billion-dollar deferred maintenance backlog at our beautiful National Parks and Public Lands.  This cache series, named Great American Outdoors, is to commemorate and celebrate the passage of this historic conservation law.

We hope you enjoy learning about our National Park System. Happy Geocaching!

Acadia National Park is a stunning national treasure on the coast of Maine in the USA.  Its landscape is diverse,  marked by woodland, rocky beaches, and glacier-scoured granite peaks such as Cadillac Mountain, the highest point on the United States’ East Coast.  Among the wildlife are moose, bear, whales, and seabirds.

Acadia is the fifth smallest national park by land area but is among the top ten most visited.  Acadia is the oldest American National Park east of the Mississippi River.

Geocache is located on the RIGHT side of the trail.
