Since 1973, the nearby public recreational center, in a beautiful valley south of Raton, NM has boasted 33,300 acres devoted to nature conservancy, hunting, sports shooting, and youth education.
This cache is posted just a short distance from the front gates of the Center, which is open to the public. There is a statue of Charton Heston mounted on horseback, a covered wagon for entertainment of the little muggles, as well as a trailhead of the Santa Fe trail.
