Here's a puzzle that requires nothing more than a beautiful walk/hike in the grasslands and beaches of Gearhart. The views of the ocean, estuary and Coast Mountains are spectacular.
You will find the north coordinate for this cache in Gear.
You will find the west coordinate for this cache in Hart.
Put them together and you get Gearhart, and the full coordinates for this cache.
There is no need to bushwhack or wade through grass at any point. Here is my suggested route:
1 - Park at N 46 01.103 W 123 55.322, the posted coordinates for this cache.
2 - Follow the sandy trail to Gear.
3 - Return to the wide sandy track and follow it around until you come to a trail west through the grass to Hart. Alternatively, and a bit further, follow the estuary down to the ocean beach and then hike the beach around.
4 - From Hart, follow the trail east and then south to the cache site.
