Gnomes are known as symbols of good luck so keep your eye peeled! Providing protection over the gems and minerals in the ground they come alive at night to watch over the crops, livestock, and friendly campers. I was camping at Baker Lake and we came upon many magical creatures and breath taking sights.
We pulled up on a small boat to a nice little camp site located on a small island just off shore from Horse Shoe Cove. After exploring the dispersed campsite something caught my eye off in the distance. I hurried towards the very large tree I saw it coming from. As i apporched the tree I noticed a small creature on two legs dart undercover in hole of a tree that was leaning over. I went up to the hole and asked " is anyone there? I mean no harm in this beautiful land." I was greeted by a small man, no more than a foot tall, and he asked what brought me here? I said "Im looking for the perfect place to hide my Geocache." He replied, " because you come in good spirit and are one with the land, I will watch over your Geocache for ages to come."
I was very greatful for the generosity of the gnome so I place my black water proof dry box, ( about the size of medium piece of tubper ware ) deep inside this gnome hole filled with many treasures for my new friend to protect for years to come! There is a log book and pen incase you forget yours but if possible always have a pen geocaching! This cache is located on a small island but during certain times of the year is accesable by foot and do not need a small water craft to get to. There are a few dispersed camp sites on this island and this cache is located just outside one of the campsites on the north east side of the small island. I recommend you look for this cache during the day so you do not scare any campers. But if you were to snag the campsite this cache is located near I dont see why you couldnt look for it at night! Just make sure to have you your flash light!
