Yes, for you walking the road begins. But years ago when this area was a state park, you could drive out on the spit as the road connected to the mainland. But sands and winter storms took their toll and much of the road is now gone. The cache is located near a spot where there was once parking. Faint lines can still be seen on the pavement here.
After parking it is easiest to walk down the beach on the right side of the spit. After a half mile or so, in the middle you will see signs that say no dogs allowed past this point. Cross over there and you will see the the road that will take you to this cache and ones further down the spit. Most people stay over on the beach and it is generally very quiet here. Enjoy the walk, the peace, the solitude and the cache.
