In the spirit of October and Halloween, this hike will be a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure hike! As a fun addition, if you'd like to show up wearing a costume, the fun would certainly be enjoyed!
The Eagle River Nature Center offers a variety of trails for exploration, from the short Rodak Loop (.7 mile loop) all the way to the Crow Pass Trail (23 miles one way to Girdwood). (Trails map here) Hikers can choose which journey they would like to take!
- Distance varies depending on the trail:
- Fee: $5.00/vehicle parking fee for non-members of the Nature Center
- Sorry, Alaska State Park Passes are not valid at the Nature Center.
We'll meet in the parking lot at 10:00 and give attendees until 10:30 to socialize and share travel bugs. Depending on group size, we will hike as one unit or split into smaller groups. Please wear your mask and be prepared to be socially distant. Bring hand sanitizer if you're planning on finding any caches along the trail.
This is meant to be a social hike, and hikers can go at whatever pace they'd like on the trail! Come make some caching friends, or say hi to the ones you already have.
As always, please take your own personal safety seriously and don't come just for the smiley. Those who are considered a vulnerable population are recommended to continue staying home. Facial coverings/masks are strongly recommended. Always sanitize your hands if soap and water are not available. And keep your distance from others who are not in your immediate household!
