DRIFTWOOD is a small hanging medicine container.. Leave the beach at some driftwood. Move about 8m up the little track and turn left.
Angus88 decided that the trek to the point was worthy of more than one cache so has placed six more. The full trek to Lieu-Pine-New [one way] is just over 3k from the car parking at the northern end of Hawley Esplanade.
The first 1.5k is a well defined and easy track. No dogs allowed [penguin sanctuary]. I have graded the terrain as 3 due to the second 1.5k being some electric fenceline walking while dodging tree branches etc; a little beach walking; some tea tree dodging and ducking; some knee high scrub walking; and some rock hopping. At time, you will need to choose and retrace if necessary as there are no markers.
CAUTION: The weather can change quickly and dramatically. Go well prepared with appropriate footwear, spare warm clothing, and drinking water. Communications are available all the way out though down to one bar. You should allow up to 3 hours for the return journey but the young, nimble and fit will no doubt slice a good deal off that time.
I hope you enjoy these caches as much as I enjoyed the hike it needed to place them.
