Geocache Description:

Welcome to Ghost Hunt. This geocache series brings attention to locations tied to the historic Hall-Mills double homicide of 1922. The cache contains a QR code with information relevant to the case. Good luck....

After police abanonded the search for her mother's murderer in 1922, Charlotte Mills sought refuge in work. Like many young people, she tried her luck in New York City, but could only find clerical or menial work in the financial sector.

The opportunity to make an independent living never fully materialized in the wake of Black Tuesday, September 29th, 1929. Haunted by her mother's death, Charlotte's health broke down, and she left the financial sector due to illness. The newspapers callously said she went "nuts" and "bolted." She returned to New Jersey to live out the last of her days in a nursing home. Charlotte E. Mills died of illness on February 1, 1952, at the age of  just 45. RIP.

*NOTE* We replaced this cache on 8 May 2021, and adjusted its location to better match the posted coordinates. It is NOT in the elevated garden bed. It is NOT on the overpass. It is NOT in the water....
