Geocache Description:

Cache location is visible from a major US Highway with a picturesque cemetary located nearby. While the community is tiny today, during the days of King Cotton, it was a thriving center of trade. Take a few minutes and look at some of the older buildings in the neighborhood.

By the 1890s, southerners were again becoming the backbone of the US Army. A southerner, born just a mile or so away from the cache, had risen in rank to General. In the winter of 1897, he commanded a post near Milwaukee. Like most native southerners, his disposition was lazy during the summer but in the cooler months, his intellectual fires were stoked and he produced a masterful work that lives on today in boardrooms, legislatures and organizations worldwide. Once you've learned who this native son is, drop me an email with the procedures that to this day carry his name as well as his middle name.
