Great big congratulations to my neighbor and legendary local cacher, katguy, on his 20,000th find. I wonder what percentage of those finds have been STFs!
Katguy began geocaching in April 2003 and has never really slowed down. I noticed that he recently passed a very impressive milestone and just knew I had to place a tribute cache to commemorate this accomplishment.
I decided that this special spot in our hometown was the perfect spot to honor katguy and the container is more fitting for this setting than a golden ammo can would be.
About the Niles Waterfall:
On Memorial Day, May 31, 1999, Niles dedicated the waterfall at Touhy Avenue and Milwaukee Avenue as an appropriate monument in memory of those Niles residents who served our country so nobly. In warm months, you can have a seat on the couch and take your picture with Abraham Lincoln. Around the holidays, the Veterans Memorial is transformed into a winter wonderland.
