The term “dinosaur” is derived from two Greek words - deinos meaning “terrible” and saurus which means “lizard” – and was first used by English Biologist Sir Richard Owen in 1846. Variations for different species names come from a distinctive characteristic or where a fossil was first found.

Not technically a dinosaur, the Pliosaurs were a group of swimming reptiles from the Mesozoic era. The Elasmosaurus, or “thin plated lizard” is the most recognisable with a small head, long neck with 71 vertebrae, and rigid, flipper like limbs. It would have measured up to 14 metres and weighed over 2 tons and while it did breathe air, its size would not have allowed it to move on land or hold more than its head above water.
A simple (mostly) PnG series useful for streak, souvenir or calendar “daze” (days) when fresh smileys in the area seem extinct. BYO pen, no room for swaps. Camo is relevant to each hide and is NOT swag.
