Unexpected Cache Part 2 Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Seekers: Personal obligations prevent me from being able to maintain this cache according to a timetable; chemotherapy has a way of altering priorities. So I am going ahead and archiving it. I have retrieved the ammo can before someone absconded with it; hopefully my kids and I can use it in the future for a new cache, as circumstances allow.
We had a good run with this cache; it lasted a long time. Hazel Wolf Wetlands is an amazing place for local wildlife observation. No bikes, no horses, no dogs allowed; even jogging is prohibited. Its sole purpose is to preserve natural habitat. Treasure it.

Geocache Description:

This cache is a replacement for one which we briefly hid a few months ago, in an area that soon underwent major clearcutting. That area is supposed to be repaired, but it hasn't happened yet, so we opted to find a nearby location to rehide the cache. This trail, which goes through the Hazel Wolf Wetlands, allows walkers and equestrians only; no bikers - sorry. It passes right through a private golf course for a very short stint, but the gates have been kept opened for this purpose; there doesn't seem to be a problem as long as hikers don't meander onto the main fairway. The theme of the cache is "things that you sometimes unexpectedly need or wish you'd thought to bring with you". The original stash included 2 bottles of water, 2 emergency ponchos, 2 illumination sticks, 2 disposable handwarmers, 2 disposable toe warmers, a disposable diaper changing pad, a candle with matches, a mini-first aid kit, a deck of cards, a mylar blanket, and 2 emergency sewing kits. There are a couple of item replacements from the few geocachers who found the original cache. I also placed 2 travel bugs. The container is an olive green ammo box. There is more than one access point, but we parked along the road at N47 36.566 W 122 00.292. Happy hunting!
