This is a quick two stage multi located in the small Alpharetta Memorial Park located on the grounds of the Alpharetta Public Safety headquarters building. One section of the park is dedicated to Military veterans and one section is dedicated to the Alpharetta Police K-9 officers. I spent over 35 years serving this City and spent many a day working out of this building. I had the idea for this cache in my head for many years and due to one reason or another, I just never got it put out. Now is the time. The parking cords will bring you to the dedicated parking spots for this park. Just follow the sidewalk around and it will bring you to the brick pathway for the park
Step 1 – the posted cords will bring you to the memorial dedicated to the Alpharetta residents who lost their lives fighting in Viet Nam. You will find the names of four men listed here. Stage 1 is located at N 34 04.ABC / W 084 17. 0DE. To solve for ABC, find the birth year of the youngest of these men and subtract 1828. The result will be ABC. To solve for DE, find the age of the oldest man and subtract 8. The result will be DE.
Step 2 – after retrieving the item in stage 1, travel on a bearing of 209 degrees for 45 ft. Then change to a bearing of 118 degrees for 35 ft. This will will bring you to where you need to be to gather the info for the Stage 2 math. You will find a list of K-9 officers and the years they served the City of Alpharetta. I had the honor of serving alongside all of these fine animals. Stage 2 (final) is located at N 34 04.FGH / W 084 17.0IJ.
