Tämä mikrokokoinen peruskätkö esittelee Otaniemen vesitornin. [See below for English description.]
Otaniemen vesitorni on Alvar Aallon arkkitehtitoimiston suunnittelema. Torni perustuu Alvar Aallon luonnokseen ja vastaavana arkkitehtinä toimi Jan Sverker Gardberg. Aalto itse oli samaan aikaan kiireinen Finlandia-talon suunnittelussa. Betoninen vesitorni on kaksitoistajalkainen ja kaksitoistakulmainen ja se valmistui vuonna 1971. Tornin korkeus on 52 metriä ja tilavuus 6 000 kuutiometriä. Torni sijaitsee Otaniemessä aivan Kehä I:n vieressä ja näkyy hyvin etenkin Tapiolan suuntaan. Tornin alla on poissa käytöstä oleva toimistorakennus. Tornissa tehdään parhaillaan kattoremonttia, minkä johdosta tornin ympärillä on rakennustelineitä.
Huomioi, että aidan yli tien puolelle ei tarvitse mennä. Kätkössä ei ole kynää.

This micro-sized traditional cache introduces you to the Otaniemi water tower.
The Otaniemi water tower was designed by the office of famous Finnish architect Alvar Aalto. The water tower made of concrete and it is twelve-legged and twelve-angled, and it was completed in 1971. The height of the tower is 52 meters and the volume is 6,000 cubic meters. The tower is located in Otaniemi, right next to Ring Road I and is well visible, especially in the direction of Tapiola. Under the tower, there is a currently unoccupied office building and the roof is presently undergoing renovations.
Note that there is no need to go to over the fence. Bring your own pen.
