I have never walked the creek here at Hell Hollow Wilderness Area, but after hiding caches in Paine Creek down in Indian Point Park, I decided to place some here as well for the FTF series (Fill The Fizzy). This is an awesome area as well, but be advised you will need to go down a total of 262 steps on stairs before accessing the creek (meaning you will have to climb up those same stairs). The stones in this area of the creek are not as flat as Indian Point Park either. If you have done the Indian Point creek walk and did not like it, you will definitely not like this walk.
The caches placed in this park are intended to help others with their fizzy, with some hard to find D/Ts hidden in this hike along Paine Creek.
Please be safe as you hunt for these caches - They are placed with permission of Lake Metro Parks. Please do not search when the water is high, as the water creates quite a force when crossing. Also be careful when water is low. Please do not search from November through March or when the water is extremely cold. Be safe and Happy caching!
Allow the better part of the day if you plan on getting all in one day, otherwise you may wish to split this up into two separate days. It is a very enjoyable hike if you pick the right time of year. Don't forget about the steps you will have to climb back up to the car.
Also note that Internet connection is very poor in most of the areas and it is recommended offload to a GPS or download off line before attempting the walk.
