Scouter Park & the 4 Walnuts
Here is a bit of history I bet most of the city is unaware of:
On May 9, 1934
4 Walnut Seedlings from Gettysburg, Mt. Vernon and the grave of President George Washington.
Were planted here under the auspices of Three Rivers.
A. T. VanAlstyne, Mayor, BSA & DAR.
An address was given by Rev. W. J. Malcom
This is a lovely riverside setting that occasionally floods in the spring.
It is also the site for a drive through Christmas Lights display during the holidays.
These trees are rooted in the earth and stretch for the sky. They connect earth to the heavens and the present to the past.
Take a seat and consider how you will make these connections in your own life.

update 2024:
Those adorable Squirrels are worse than humanoid muggles.
I believe I now have a container they won’t run away with.
But... It’ll be up to the geocachers to replace it:
(a) Back out of sight so the casual visitor wont see it and
(b) Hooked so the Squirrels can’t run away with it!
As always,
Keep
Calm
and
Cache
On!
