Geocache Description:

Cache #376.

Next time you're driving into Chiltern, take a moment to check out the new town entry sculpture that was installed in May 2019.

Artist Xavier Pinard's design was chosen by the community for its connection to the cultural identity of the town.

The Miner's Spade represents Chiltern's gold mining past, while the two Regent Honeyeaters signify the nearby Chiltern Mt Pilot National Park and its flora and fauna.

For quite some time after its installation the locals added their own small shovels along the nature strip, which added some colour and whimsy. Unfortunately, I did not get a photo before they were all removed.  I did note the other day though, that there is edging around the sculpture now and a few shovels have re-appeared. If you feel so inclined bring your own little piece of whimsy to add within the boundary.

You are looking for a micro-sized container.  IT IS NOT attached to the sculpture.  There is a pencil but please bring your own pen, just in case.  .
