Wellington DV717

 

Wellington Bomber IC DV717 of No. 11 Operational Training Unit (92 Group) crashed at Breck's Farm on a training exercise from RAF Westcott, Buckinghamshire on 15 October 1942. The reason for the crash is unclear. All that is known is the plane dived out of heavy cloud and crashed into the ground. All crew were lost.

All crew were from New Zealand with the exception of Sgt McCord who had emegrated to New Zealand 4 years previously from Ireland.

Find the plaque dedicated to the man who partly funded the pathway through a donation in his name. The dates are ABCD - EFGH.
