Geocache Description:

When I was a lot younger, Six forks road didn't come past the train tracks and Atlantic Avenue dead ended before 440.  We used to ride our bikes over and fish in the pond that used to be here.  Development dumped lots of sediment and the pond is now more a sediment full marsh.  Really nice cat tails and such you can see from the end of Six Forks and I'm sure some snakes and itchy stuff if you dare go that far in.

Sigh.  Covid 19.  Covid 19 has really changed how we interact and go about our daily lives.  It has made Geocaching less of a group event as we socially distance and sneak out and grab a few smiles in the stress of it all. I remember the first hunt as we locked down and the hand sanitizer and gloves I went through.  Every day we learn a little bit more about Covid 19 as we go on with our daily life.

Testing methods are getting better each month; but at this time there isn't a vaccine and there are a lot of things unknown about Covid 19.  Regardless, while contemplating Geocaching in my social distancing the idea spawned for this cache.  (oh, and delivery of the future cache container to be modified).  you're welcome and I'm sorry.  I've probably over rated the difficulty but when you search for Covid 19, it's not always straightforward and takes time to recover.

This one should be easy to locate but take a few minutes to sign the log.  Love me or hate me, I made sure there was a tree nearby to sit and contemplate your strategy.  Puzzle...no.  But it will take a TOTT and little testing to sign this covid log.

I highly suggest parking on East Six Forks along the street (safely off the road) and walking to this one.  I HIGHLY discourage you to try to walk in off Atlantic unless that is just your thing to do otherwise.  Good luck with that.  Stay East of the creek and avoid the cache if the creeks are at flood stage, this area catches a lot of runoff from the development in the area.

Snakes and bugs are likely during that time of year but I didn't notice any poison Ivy on my trip to find this location.  Enjoy the journey and let me know how you're getting along with the social distancing and how it's affected your cache enjoyment.  Be safe, be well!
