Grandads Bench -
Decades ago I was a pupil at Victoria School at the bottom of the hill. My grandparents would collect me sometimes and we would walk home up this hill. We would pause and look at this 'hidden' view of the valley.
Fast forward 40 yrs or so and my kids were being collected by their grandparents and would sometimes make the same climb. They told me of the bench they would stop at to look at the view (Grandads bench). I just thought it pretty cool that history was repeating.
I've been meaning to put a cache here for a while. Its a steep climb but if you brave the path from the bottom (or the top) the sit down and the view are terrific. Pick a nice day.
Its a busy little intersection on a public footpath, so its only a micro I am afraid. We'll see if it lasts.
