These twin bridges were constructed at different times. The right-hand bridge was built in 1935. Over the years, traffic to Niagara Falls via Pork Chop Island increased so in 1963 the left-hand bridge was constructed. As children, the cache owners remember watching the 2nd bride get constructed and saw President John F. Kennedy drive over the bridge during its official opening.
