Gamblesmire Lane
Gamblesmire Lane is one of those ancient tracks, used for centuries, that links Kendal with Underbarrow. The Lake District National Park Authority describe it as a "Green Road” . Its an Unclassified Road and can be used by motor vehicles for recreational purposes. I've never seen a 4x4 on this lane but I have seen trail bikes, so keep a look out.

I walked this lane a lot during Lockdown in 2020 during the Covid19 pandemic and decided it needed a cache to link a walk on Cunswick Scar with a walk around Underbarrow. This location also provides the perfect place for this particular cache container which is a bit of a hint for those cachers who bother to read the description. There's a picture in the gallery taken from very near GZ when I put out the cache. I hope you will have better views. Bring your own pen and a pair of tweezers.
Cyclists can enter the Lane where it meets the Underbarrow Road. Walkers arriving by car can use the Cunswick Scar car park indicated.
