This bridge is one of several that cross Pratt Creek. Pratt Creek was named after Major Pratt, who built the first log cabin in nearby Oak Grove, in 1841. Later, Major Pratt built an inn for travelers in Oak Grove. There is a theory that Pratt's inn may have been a stop on the Underground Railroad in Dodge County. The UR would have had stops approximately every 10 miles along the journey. In Dodge County, the first stop might have been Watertown, to Oak Grove, to Beaver Dam or Rolling Prairie and on to Fox Lake.
It is a small waterproof container.
