Bald Peak is a mountain in the Welsford area with fantastic views in all directions. Bald Peak is an excellent place for rock climbing and has a variety of routes with a range of difficulty levels. It is also an excellent hike for those not interested in climbing. The hike is fairly steep at some points but should take only half an hour or less. For those interested in rock climbing, there are several more fantastic climbs nearby on Cochrane lane, however, they are on military property so make sure to sign in before attempting those climbs. The climbing gear attribute is included not because climbing gear is required to find the cache but just to highlight the area as a great spot for rock climbing.
The cache was originally placed on Sept 27, 2020 but had to be moved because bald peak is on military property as well. The new location is closer to the base of the hike and is much easier to get to, but a hike to the top is still recommended.
This cache was placed as part of a climbing trip in the Welsford area with the Claystone 2020-21 team. Claystone is a University program that runs out of Crandall University every year that focuses on outdoor adventure and faith development. Claystone also has a cache on the St. Croix river, GC90CRQ and on the Fundy footpath, GC92JHJ.
