Geocache Description:

In case you hadn't noticed, the streets in Barcaldine are all names after trees.  Oak street is the main street.  Box Street is the main one coming in from the South.

There are five streets or roads the Council has out in this area: Lancewood Drive, Beefwood Road, Mimosa Road, and Yarran Road.  Some of them are just dirt tracks - one is not even developed, even though it is a gazetted road.

This one is in Corkwood Road.  But you probably won't find any corkwood trees growing around here - they belong to the rainforests near the coast further north and it is just too dry here most of the time.

So I thought I would place a couple of multi caches here to highlight how different our country is.

Go to the Waypoint below called "Start Here" where you can get the decimal parts of the coordinates you need to find the cache.

Happy Hunting!

NOTE:  Checked and verified with Council before pacing the waypoint that Corkwood Road is indeed a Council Road. But the landowner towards the bottom of the road thinks he owns the road.  He does NOT.  His Private Road sign is illegal, as are any electric fences he erects across the road.  If you encounter any resistance, PLEASE report it to the Council Office.  They need to know to take action.
