Please be aware of your abilities and stay safe whilst attempting this or any other tree climb cache. I do not take responsibility for any injuries caused.
Ever since hiding my first geocache back in 2017, i have wanted to have a tree climb cache of my own, and I have finally got round to doing it. The options were more limited than I expected but I found a suitable location right at the edge of a local wood, in a big oak tree by the side of a field. I hope you like it, please tell me if the ratings need to be adjusted, it is currently set at 4 because of the maneuvers required rather than the height, but it's a lot harder to guess how to rate a tree climb than a normal cache.
Welcome to Duke's Wood, a quiet and relatively unknown part of the Nottinghamshire countryside. This small area of woodland used to pump oil during World War 2, and the history is quite interesting. Some of the other caches here have more information about this, check them out if you wish.
The cache itself is a moderately challenging tree climb, although the cache itself is not that high in elevation, approx 4 metres up. The container is a micro sized tube on a string, please bring a pen with you and be careful whilst signing the log. I hope you enjoy your visit and the caches along the way.
