Geocache Description:

Putney Mountain is a popular hiking spot in Southern Vermont.  An easy 6/10 mile hike (1.2 miles round trip) on a mostly level trail brings you to a clearing with great views both to the east (Mt. Monadnock in NH) and west (the spine of the Green Mountains -- Mt. Snow / Haystack / Bromley / Stratton).  In late summer and early fall you will often find "Hawk Watchers" recoridng data on migrating accipiters (i.e. birds of prey)

A quintessentiall Vermont gravel road leads to ample parking at the Putney Mountain Trailhead. This geocache could be accessed in winter, but deep snow would make finding the cache difficult. In the winter the road on the Brookline side (west side) of Putney Mountain is NOT plowed -- approach from Putney.

Vermont is a favorite destination for a summer or winter's vacation for the Isler famiy. Young Snimm Isler who just "discovered" Geocaching wanted to leave a geocache chock-full of cool toys, trinkets and a $1 bill for FTF.

The cache is a large tupperware container wrapped in duct tape. There could be Muggles around so please be discreet and when you are done please return the cash exactly where and how you found it!

Enjoy!
