Welcome to the reconstructed site of Fort Boonesborough. Daniel Boone and his men reached the Kentucky River on April 1, 1775 and established the settlement that came to be known as Fort Boonesborough. The original fort was located closer to the river (and there is a marker to identify it's original location if you explore this KY State Park). Tours of this fort are offered in season (fees apply) and you can experience what an 18th century working fort would be like. The fort contains cabins, blockhouses, and period furnishings that will add to your immersion into 18th century history. Archeological research of the area provides updated information for interpretive signs to learn more about the people who lived at Fort Boonesborough. To log this cache, you need nothing more than to be stealthy and observant. Your are seeking a micro in a moveable host. With enough visits by geocachers, this cache may get relocated from its original site, so please try to keep it located at its original coords. Regardless of how far the cache roams, this tiny home should remain in the shadows of an obelisk amidst seasonal beauties. Be respectful and watch your step. Obtaining your smiley should never mean damaging the beauties all around you.
