This cache has been placed for the BTSF Community Celebration event.
I have been regularly walking the Stowe Quiet Path for years now, and over these years I have seen a lot of changes in the Little River which flows alongside the path. During the summer, the water is usually low and calm. But with the spring snow melt, it will regularly flood its banks. From this cache location, you can see how the stream has continually pushed the banks of the river eastward. Both the Quiet Path and the cornfield have been pushed further and further as the bank continues to erode. Looking down the hill, you can see where picnic tables and signs have fallen into the river. Meanwhile, huge amounts of debris come ashore with each flood. Currently, cones and tape have been placed so that walkers will not get too close to the edge.
Due to recent knotweed removal, I was able to place only a small cache. It is between a micro and a nano. BYOP. It is a bit sneaky, and not winter friendly. This area is especially popular with dog walkers, but gets a lot of use from others too. Please be stealthy if anybody is in sight.
