GAP FILLER 01 GZ is at the corner fence post..
Angus88 recently [Sep 20] hid four caches to help fill the gap between Buncle GC141B6 and Lieu-Pine-Ner GC2DZC8. This successfully done still resutled in some tempting gaps. Rewalked all but the last 250m today [Sun 4/10/20] to see what could be done with these gaps. This is the first. On the fence line, a black bison is hidden under a fence stay, one away from the corner post.
The first time I did this walk I did it mostly rock hopping. Got very foot sore. Took a geofriend this time as she wanted to find my earlier four, and we did a lot more fenceline walking. It's really up to the individual which way you go as long as you enjoy the magnificent water, rock and island views for this rugged 1.5k treck out from the 'end of track' to the Point Sorell.
The first 1.5k is a well defined and easy track. No dogs allowed [penguin sanctuary]. I have graded the terrain as 3 due to the second 1.5k being some electric fenceline walking while dodging tree branches etc; a little beach walking; some tea tree dodging and ducking; some knee high scrub walking; and some rock hopping. At times, you will need to choose and retrace if necessary, as there are no markers.
CAUTION: The weather can change quickly and dramatically. Go well prepared with appropriate footwear, spare warm clothing, and drinking water. Communications are available all the way out though down to one bar. You should allow up to 3 hours for the return journey but the young, nimble and fit will no doubt slice a good deal off that time. On a hike to the point with Muggle friends, this cache was checked today and found to be in good order.
