I grew up in U. City and lived 1 block from this Park on Cornell and then Teasdale. The playground was very different back then as we had monkey bars with cowboys with big hats that we would sit on and if you were me, jump off. Ya, that did not go well. Then, of course, we had the old school metal merry-go-round. We were always flying around with our legs out, barely hanging on and sometimes not... we are why there are no more. Oh and the metal slide that burned you when it was hot and how I got the scar under my chin... good times indeed. I spent most of my day at this park growing up, but it was named Jackson Park just like the school, however, U. City likes to name it’s parks after former Mayors, so, this became Mooney Park, but I will never call it that.
Welcome to Eric’s Grove.
