When I started geocaching almost 11 years ago, I immediately loved the hobby. I found over 5,000 geocaches in my first 5 years of geocaching, but then in the next few years had other obligations that prevented me from geocaching as much as I would have liked.
Also, unless you travel regularly, it's difficult to rack up some numbers when your geo-map is filled with close-to-home yellow smilies.
I didn't think I'd ever have another year in which I found over 1,000 geocaches.
Last year I hit 8K while attending an event in Georgia, and thought it would be cool if I could reach 9K before my 1-year anniversary of 8K. It would be cool, but I didn't think it was likely to happen.
In 2020 I have been working on a couple of different challenges, and took a couple of short trips with my muggle hubby. A big push at the end of August and the month of September allowed me to hit 9K earlier this week!
I did it!
