LFT GT stands for Lakefront Trail GeoTour (unofficial). There were not many geocaches on this section of the lakefront so I thought that I would fill in the void and hied a bunch of my own. I am always looking for new spots so make sure to look out for new additions to the series. This series is not meant to be a mini-power trail. It is meant to make the lakefront even better for geocachers. You can do a bunch all at once, or do one and come back another day to do another one. It is up to you. Enjoy!
This is a tricky micro on the big beacon. I don't know what it is used for.
If you can't find the cache, read the hint. It's really punny ;).
The Chicago Lakefront Trail is an 18-mile trail on Chicago's lakefront. The trailing end of the southside at 71st, and 72nd. On the north-side, it ends on a roundabout near Hollywood Ave, or Ardmore Ave if you want to go even farther. The LFT attracts 30K visitors daily according to the Active Transportation Alliance. The LFT passes by/through 13 neighborhoods. In 2018, the trail was split into two separate paths: an 18 mile biking trail and an 18.5 mile walking trail signifigantly reducing congestion.
If you enjoyed this geocache, please consider leaving a favorite point. It would be awesome if you did.
