The cache is not at the posted coordinates but it is reasonably walkable from the area where the Adventure Lab takes place, and is closest to the Peralta Adobe Lab stop.
This is a bonus cache for completing the “Discover Historic Downtown” Adventure Lab. Go here to start the Lab: https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/HistoricSJ. Do not worry about the "No Trespassing" signs. This pass-through is regularily used by passers-by as part of the Little Italy development and is completely accessible to the public.
Little Italy was the first Italian immigrant neighborhood in San Jose. In its current form it consists of a number of late 19th and early 20th century buildings, some of which were moved from the flood plane of the Guadalupe River, that form a cluster around a lovely courtyard. There are several excellent restaurants, including one in the former Torino hotel...once the first stop for arriving Italian immigrants. The Torino "was widely known for serving generous portions of Italian food and providing fellowship for immigrant workers". Find the historic plaque near the corner of St. John at N. Almaden for more information on this small, charming neighborhood.
Once you complete the five stops for the Adventure Lab, you will have 5 bonus words (they are listed in the Journal entry for each Lab stop). Use the first two WORDS, to determine the correct location-based website to use, and once you are on that site, use the last 3 words to derive the final cache location. This is all the information you need to find the cache. If you like, you can then use GeocachingToolBox.com to convert your location information into final coordinates, but it is not necessary to find the cache.
The area the cache is in is fully accessible to the public, but best to approach between Sunrise and 10pm. You are not required to find the Lab stops in any particular order for the actual Adventure Lab, but for the Bonus Cache you'll need to list the Bonus Words in this order.
