Geocache Description:

I've found at least a dozen "Pay it Forward" caches in the Cedar Rapids area. Couple that with 800+ caches I've signed in Linn County, and I'd say I owe it to this dedicated group of geocachers to place a couple hides as a small token of my thanks.

I'm a firm believer in the quote at the bottom of this cache page. Police Officers aren't too far from ordinary people. They have families. They have friends. They play sports and have hobbies. They enjoy their days off, but try going to work every day with a positive attitude. Lately there has been a negative light shone more bright on Law Enforcement than I've ever seen in my lifetime. It's really sad that there are people out there who don't trust or respect police officers. Police Officers the ones who will run toward evil while everyone else runs away from it.

Dogs have been used by law enforcement agencies for over 100 years. A trained, certified police dog's nose are about 50 times stronger than a human nose, which is why the Supreme Court has held time and time again that they can be used in law enforcement to generate probable cause. Police canines are often either German Shepherd or Belgian Malinois breeds. They live to satisfy their handler and will do just about anything asked for a simple tennis ball reward and a little love.

At the posted coordinates you'll find a nice tribute for the history of the Cedar Rapids Police Department's canine program. You will need to use the front and back of this memorial to determine the coordinates for the final.
