This cache is my fiftieth cache. It was planned and researched during the COVID lockdown in Melbourne and was within 5 km of my workplace.
There is no cache at these coordinates.
Dear Adventure Cacher, by now you would have visited some of the stately houses in the area which were recommended to Toad to select as his new " Toad's Hall." You have "done some of Brighton", and have finished at Dendy beach. Here, you might take a dip, with your full-length bathing suit on, or sit down somewhere on a borrowed bathing box step, and work out this bonus cache. (You could always do it later and just enjoy one of Melbourne's top suburban tourist locations.)
Kenneth Graham's immortal story the "Wind in the Willows", features in the "Sea Breeze through the Oaks" Adventure Cache. In each journal, you would have received character pictures credited to Charles van Sandwyk, featured in my Folio edition copy of the book. Mr van Sandwyk's permission to use his illustrations was approved by emailing him through his website. These beautiful illustrations hold the key to the coordinates of this cache.
You will need a smartphone to enlarge/ enhance the image to full screen to see the clues on the Adventure Lab App. On my iPhone, I have tapped on the image received at each location and then another version of the picture appears which can be enlarged with 2 fingers. This worked well on my test run.
The characters featured are -
Mole - the dependable friend.
Rat - always organized.
Badger - likes to be in charge.
Rabbit - family centered. and
Toad - the rich playboy.
It's a BYO pencil/ writing instrument cache. Please hide as found. Watch out for muggles in all directions.
