Geocache Description:

The ABC's of Geocaching

R is for Reviewer

First off, this cache, or any of the others in this series (or anywhere else in the world) do not get published without first being reviewed.  There are over 200 reviewers, from Canada to Japan and the United Kingdom to South Africa.  These men and women can publish over 250,000 geocaches in a years time.

The reviewers are human, reviewers are individuals, reviewers are not infallible.  Reviewers are volunteers so don't expect them to look at the cache you submitted ten minutes ago, they do have a job and a life of their own. I believe that there is a mutual respect between geocachers and the reviewer.  The reviewer understands geocaching because he/she is a geocacher as well.  The geocacher should feel at ease if asking questions or getting advice from the reviewer about any placement as well.

Part of the reviewers responsibility is to make sure that the cache that we place is done with the geocaching guidlines in mind.  Sometimes, if there is a question they have about a particular cache placement for instance, they will communicate with you to get more details.  Perhaps it is ok, maybe not.  If not, they let you know and what you need to do to get it straightened out so that your cache gets published.

We owe alot to our volunteer reviewers, if you get a chance to meet one give them a big "Thank You"
