Geocache Description:

The ABC's of Geocaching

T is for TOTT

TOTT is yet another acronym.  This time it stands for Tool Of The Trade.   A TOTT for a surgeon would be a scalpel but not for a geocacher, at least I have never seen a geocacher use one.

A TOTT for a geocacher could be anything that they might use to better help them search for, retreive, find or log a geocache.  It could be tweezers or a step stool.  A geocacher could have a grabber to extend his reach or a magnet on the end of a pole.  Another tott used at times would be waders.  Both types of a screwdriver should be in your bag of totts.   Even a pen according to the definition would be a tott that you would use in geocaching.

Pictured above is a reaching tool being used to get the cache in hand in order to sign it.  Just because you can see the container high above your head does not mean you can log it.  You must be able to sign the log to record it as a find.  Also, MAKE SURE that any containers you are able to retreive you are also able to put back as you found them.
