Geocache Description:

Antične vodovode so uporabljali še v srednjem veku.

Ljubljana ima nad 40 delujočih vodnjakov v ožjem jedru mesta. Redki med njimi imajo danes le funkcionalno vlogo oskrbe z vodo. Večina jih krasi trge in parke in imajo izrazito kulturno-zgodovinsko ozadje ter vlogo prostorske dekoracije. Odlikuje jih precejšnja likovna vrednost.

Ljubljana's wells and fountains have been present in the city center since its creation, as they were important for the development of the city as such, for the supply of people with water. Older wells and aqueducts to them were known in ancient Emona, from its inception until the 5th century. Ancient aqueducts were used in the Middle Ages.

Ljubljana has over 40 operating wells in the city center. Rare among them today have only a functional role of water supply. Most of them adorn squares and parks and have a distinct cultural-historical background and the role of spatial decoration. They are distinguished by considerable artistic value.
