Camp XIX. (On the Plains.) Friday, 14/9/1860.
The wagons arrived around 9 am and crossed on the punt, an exercise that Becker wrote was a lengthy and difficult one.
"It took four hours to cross the Wakool and not before 1.45 pm we were able to leave Talbett's, halting for the night at a plain, which we reached after 3 hours marching.
We made only 9 miles today, and passing first through pines and then through Mallee scrub.
We camped on the open plains nine miles from Talbett's."
Talbett's Lake, to the east of their route, is still so named.
The campsite was a few kilometres to the east of the cache
