Geocache Description:

Way way back, on 25 June 2006, a cache was found by myself. It happened to be my very first find, and at that time, the only cache in Gladstone. I didnt even have a GPS at the time, but used Google Earth to make the find. I quickly bought a GPS, and I was hooked. That cache was owned by an out of towner, Derringer, a cacher from Victoria, who had a local reletive maintain the cache for him.

Sadly, on 28 Oct 2018, this cache was archived. Even sadder was the fact that, although it was on my watchlist, the archiving slipped my attention. Time to rectify that. The remnants of the original cache were, as recently logged, badly affected by insects, and almost completely destroyed. This new one is, essentially, in the same location, just moved a few metres from the original GZ to hopefully avoid those hungry hungry hippos. The hide is identical, so if you have done the original, then this should be a piece of cake.

So, to bring back to life, the original cache location, if not the original cache, that started me in this game, and commemorate the first cache location in Gladstone.

To be clear, the cache IS NOT within the fenced off, restricted area at the base of the towers. You do not have to enter, or search, the fence surrounding the base of the towers.
