Geocache Description:

The cache has been placed about 200 metres from where the campsite was as there is another cache, GC6857N on the bend where the party camped

Access to GZ is via a dirt track so maybe a short 200 metre hike would be advisable after heavy rain
Be snake wary in this area during the warmer months

Camp XVI. (North of the Murray.)

Tuesday, 11/9/1860.
Ludwig Becker wrote in his journal
"Ladies and Gentlemen from Swan Hill gave the officers of the Exploring Party a parting dinner and if all the kind wishes we here received are destined to be realised, surely our trip through New-Holland and back again will he anything but a dangerous one.
To Mr Superintendent Foster and to Dr Gummow I am very much indebted for a number of things I was in need of and which I have not received in Melbourne, although so much required for preserving objects of natural history.
In the afternoon we crossed the Murray and camped there in sight of Swan Hill."(1)
Burke returned to Swan Hill and was busily employed in making up despatches till midday (September 13), when he finally left the colony of Victoria
