Pre-Holiday Community Celebration Event at Fred Howard Park from 3:45pm-5:45pm.
Come hang out at the park to enjoy some geo-fellowship. Wear your best Holiday sweater and you might win a prize in the "Ugliest Xmas Sweater" contest. Please bring a dozen wrapped cookies for a yummy cookie exchange (homemade or store bought). Of course, telling geo-stories (and lies) and exchanging trackables are on the agenda.
Update 12/17: Expect a high of 80F. Wear you Xmas bikini :) Bring best "ugly" Xmas sweaters to be displayed on a clotheline. There will be a prize! FYI if you don't want to hang around the whole time, I plan on doing the Xmas sweater judging at 5pm. Followed by giveaway of other prizes.
You might want to bring a picnic and your favorite beach chair. For some exercise and entertainment, badminton rackets will be available. I also have a set of bocce balls. You are encouraged to provide other fun equipment like corn hole or beach volleyball.
Sunset is at 5:39pm. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate and reward us with a spectacular view that Howard Park is known for.
Please note that you will have to pay for parking on beach/causeway. The pay stations only take credit cards. Parking is free in the park before you cross the causeway. You could hike/bike to the event from there.
