BriGuyNY: Thank you to everyone who attended and helped in the effort to give this annual event a jump-start back to life. Picnic in Peekskill 2022! 🎉




What originally started as a (mostly harmless 😊) diner event in 2010 quickly evolved to become an annual summer event for the Lower Hudson Geocachers. However, due to a variety of circumstances, we were unable to host in 2017 and seemed to have lost our way. Of course the global pandemic had its own plan, further derailing our good intentions to reconvene. Now, at long last, Picnic in Peekskill is BACK to celebrate our local community and, of course: International Geocaching Day.

We would love to have volunteers to manage various elements of this great event. The more volunteers we have, the more activities we can do. Here is a starter list of focus points that would use some help with coordinating:
- New Geocache Placements
- Food Management, Potluck Style
- Tricky Tray Items & Tickets

For parking, if you print the attached permit (from the photo gallery) and show the booth attendant, total cost per vehicle will be $5. Without the permit or a Westchester County Parks pass, it's $10.

A nominal - *not required* - donation is being requested from attendees to help cover the cost of renting this picnic area. Any surplus will be applied back into future LoHud events, so whatever is comfortable enough to spare would be greatly appreciated!

Pets are allowed on all trails and open spaces around Blue Mountain *except* picnic areas

Comfort Stations are located in close proximity to the event site (hooray!)
