In order to increase the capacity of SR-37 and bring the roadway up to current design standards, Lochner’s staff completed a project scoping study to examine roadway widening alternatives. Lochner was responsible for the study, the development of alternatives, and the preparation of a documented categorical exclusion document. Lochner also provided final design for the widening of 2.9 miles of a predominantly two-lane road to a five-lane road; adding sidewalk on both sides; the construction of a pedestrian underpass for a city trail; and the extension or replacement of six concrete box culverts.
