The Lake Cargelligo Railway line construction began in 1913 and was opened in 1917. The line runs from Cootamundra and was used to haul grain and goods by steam train and also offered a passenger service up until 1983. The line is still used today predominantly to haul grains but still sees the occasional visitor trains stops in for a wander in our incredible little town.
These two incredible historic structures really paint a picture of the European settlement in Lake Cargelligo. Neither structure is functional anymore but they are quite beautiful and leave the mind wondering!
When I was only young my Grandparents told my cousins and I that an old lady used to live under the turntable and to not go near there (I don’t know for sure but I think this was just a story to scare us kids from playing on it...it worked).
I hope you enjoy this cache! You’re looking for a camo clip lock container with room for small trade items.
