Greenville County should to be praised for this beautiful Memorial erected in honor of the members of our Military forces, who gave their lives during the Vietnam era. We have chosen to highlight this location here, because it could easily be overlooked while driving through the curvy roads, adjacent to the Memorial. There are several caches very close by, in this same park. If you come to locate them, you may wish to visit this location and reflect a few moments, on the personal freedoms we enjoy, given by those who made the supreme sacrifice. The park has an excellent zoo, playground for young children, jogging paths, picnic tables and shelters available for all to enjoy.
The title of this cache, “The Silent Warrior’s”, was inspired by a poem engraved on one of the many granite panels making up this Memorial. The poem does not give credit as to who its author may have been, but if you take a few minutes to read it, we believe you will appreciate the depth and meaning, of the words inscribed.
