There's nothing better than a day on (in) the water! This lake provides great opportunities for fresh water diving with incredible water clarity (as much as 30 foot visibility). We discovered this boat shortly after the quarry re-opened for divers in 2020. It's located in the far northeast corner of the lake, just past the pump house. In the summer months, this cache is well above the first thermocline, with water temps approaching or even exceeding 80 degrees! Say "Hi!"to the many friendly and inquisitive large-mouth bass that hang around the boat.
You are looking for a small waterproof container with a waterproof log. You will find the container near the steering wheel attached via clear line. So take a seat behind the wheel and you should be able to grab the smiley with ease. Bring your own pencil. Please blow a little air into the container so that it floats once you sign the log. Happy hunting...and diving!
Note: The quarry is open on weekends through the spring, summer, and fall. It may be closed during the winter.
