THE CACHE IS NOT AT THE POSTED CO-ORDINATES, they will take you to a spot where the re-aligned Tom Snow Trail crosses the Moose Creek Loop (see photo below).
SOME DIRECTIONS
Recently, I discovered that a new bridge has been constructed over Jumpingpound Creek in Spruce Woods Provincial Recreation Area (PRA). This PRA is located within the Sibbald Demonstration Forest Area off highway 68 (Sibbald Road). The previous bridge was destroyed in the 2013 flood. The new bridge is upstream from the previous one and it connects to new trails which lead to the Moose Creek Loop. The other thing I discovered was that a portion of Tom Snow Trail in this area has been modified to go though the middle of the PRA, avoiding a nasty section that had been badly flood damaged in 2013. To get to the posted co-ordinates follow directional signs to the Moose Creek Loop from the parking area, go down the hill across the Jumpingpound and continue over several other bridges to the loop. Then go around the Loop in a clockwise direction, crossing one other bridge before coming the Tom Snow Trail.
THE STORY
Now, when I started following this new (to me) trail I was mainly interested in finding were it would re-connect to the old Tom Snow Trail alignment. However, I never did get very far as I encountered a homelessTroll wandering along the trail. I was frightened at first but he told me not to worry as he was slowly losing his powers and beginning to vanish. Apparently, the degree of his transparency was related to his power and alas, he was soon going to be gone forever. I did manage to get a photo of him just before he disappeared.
However, just before he vanished he crumpled up a piece of paper, threw it down and ground it into the ground, muttering something about a treasure. I picked it up but didn't understand what it was all about. I took a photo of it in case someone else can figure it out.
There is not much more that I can add, hope you can figure it out. Not sure what one would do with Troll treasure anyway!
