Welcome to the Cryptex Sampler series. After hiding 11 caches on the North-South levee, I discovered that this location did not violate any proximity rules - so another was placed for you enjoyment.
You must sign the log to claim a find. Bring your own pen or pencil to sign the log.
You can either walk or ride a bike along the base of the levee to this cache. The dirt road can be bumpy so be careful when travelling on it.
Please be aware:
-
You may need to step on some unstable rocks to access the cache.
-
The container is hidden under a rock so be careful not to roll the rock onto fingers, toes, or electronic equipment.
-
I do not recommend searching when the rocks are wet. The rocks would be slippery and the etching darkens which makes it very difficult to see.
This is a 2 stage multi. At the posted coordinates you should find a rock with the Geocaching "G" and the words "Find the numbers" etched on it with the cryptex container hidden underneath that same rock. The numbers to open the cryptex is on one of two nearby utility poles. You have a 50/50 chance of choosing the correct utility pole. Count the number of dials on the cryptex to determine the number you need to locate to open the cryptex (which pulls apart from the ends). If the number does not work then you may have selected the wrong utility pole.
If you happen to lose the cap to the nano or a log, because it can happen, there is a Cryptex Sampler First Aid Station just 10 feet north of GC8VKDA (Cryptex Sampler: When a HOXOJ equals an EGXOJ). Find the labeled rock, look under, and take a replacement to repair on your way back. Please post in your log if you needed to replace any part so that I can keep track of making more replacements available.
Please do not post spoiler photos showing the solution on the cryptex (photos will be deleted without warning).
